Join Beavers (6-8) :
Beavers are the youngest
section of our Scout Group ~ the Beaver Colony, these
are Boys and girls usually aged between 6 to 8 years of
age. Boys and girls can join the Beavers in the three
months leading up to their sixth birthday on a trial
basis.

Beavers within the Beaver
Colony are placed into a Lodge and wear a woggle of the
colour of their Lodge; a Lodge comprises usually six
Beavers, the senior one of these being the Lodge Leader
wears two white strips around the arm on their jumper,
and a Lodge Seconder who wears a single white strip
around the arm of their jumper. The Lodge Leader and
Lodge Seconder supervise their Lodge and help the other
Beavers within the Lodge with Beaver work and in Beaver
games to encourage a friendly little team.
Beavers are easily
recognised by their distinctive and very smart uniform,
comprising a light grey jumper, a sky-blue corded light
grey cap, grey shorts, navy blue long socks with two
emerald green rings around the sock downturns supported
by emerald green garter flashes. They also wear their
Scout Group colour neckerchief with a coloured woggle
denoting their Lodge. The uniform is purchased from the
Scout Group who maintains a good stock of all Sections’
uniforms.

Beavers meet usually once a
week on Tuesday evening from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. They are
required to attend Church Parades held once a month and
support the Beaver Colony and Scout Group in various
other activities from time to time of which they will be
notified.
Beavers enjoy making new
friends from the catchment area of the scout group not
just school friends, passing beaver tests and gaining
many badges, playing games, going on visits and helping
others, all within our very friendly family orientated
scout group.

Hopefully all Beavers will
gain their top award ‘THE SWIMMING UP BADGE’ before
their 8th. Birthday so that they are ready to progress
and become a Wolf Cub in our Wolf Cub Pack at the age of
8 years old.
